# Why does chocolate make me sick?

I love chocolate. But if I eat more than a few ounces, I become nauseous. Why is that? Is it possible that I am allergic to chocolate? Or is there an ingredient in chocolate that makes people queasy (perhaps the same stuff that poisons dogs)?

_(Note to self: stay out of the Nestle’s Tollhouse semisweet chocolate chips from now on)._

You’re allergic, unless you’re part dog which I think would be a more interesting topic. Questions like these would be fun:

1. How much time a day do you spend licking yourself?

2. Ass-sniffing? Rude or approriate at times?

3. Have you ever humped a purebred?

4. Hanging jowels? Sexy or silly?

5. Weiner dogs, are they …you know?

6. The details of this webpage, fact or fiction?

honestly, **junebeetle** , go see a doctor and get tested for allergies. Then you might get your answer. I’m pretty sure the SDMB is not the place for medical advice.

God forbid I get faulty medical advice on Excess Chocolate Queasiness Syndrome.

I guess the question I was attempting to ask is: Why does too much chocolate make people sick in general (e.g. Halloween night after the spoils have been eaten)?
