# why does dried sand stick to my feet

With wet feet, I walk in sand and it sticks to my feet. If I dip my feet back in the water before the sand can dry, the sand washes off easily. But if I let the sand dry, then step in the water, the sand sticks and I have to manually rub it off.

Why is this? What kind of bond is forming when the sand dries?
