Why does it seem like there are fewer homeless in New York City than in other comparable cities?

It’ll be interesting to see how they handle it. I think NYC has a lot of financial incentive to provide housing. The safer the city feels, the more people are willing to venture out and contribute to the economy. If it feels sketchy walking around after dark, people will stay at home.
