I don’t know about others, but your signature(s) put me off. Quoting other dopers is a turn-off to me, at any rate. Makes you seem, dare I say it, a bit of a loser. When people in a competitive environment like this sense weakness, they go for the jugular, which in chat-room terms is to ignore you. I just try to annoy people with my signatures. You get more reaction that way! Some people don’t want to acknowledge such a one, but they just can’t help themselves. Especially mods and ex-mods for some reason. And you might think they’d be the most secure of dopers… ---

I’ve seen sig lines that kind of rubbed me the wrong way before, but would you honestly _ignore_ a doper with good things to contribute to a conversation just because his sig put you off? To me, that sounds like ignoring someone in a face-to-face meeting because you don’t like their shirt. ---

As a public service to those Dopers who feel their posts are being ignored, I offer the following post suggestions which are **categorically guaranteed** to get a lot of attention in a hurry: 1. Ann Coulter makes a lot of good points in her latest book–and she’s _hot_, too! 2. I’m thinking of having my cat declawed. 3. Is there any reason why I should/shouldn’t have my baby circumcised? 4. What’s the big deal with evolution? It’s just a theory. 5. Jack Chick tracts make great witnessing tools! ---
