# Why does pimple popping make tears run?

I noticed that sometimes pimple popping could be a tearful process, especially if the pimple is painful and hard to pop and if it is located near or on the nose. Why?

And although I have guess on this one, I would like to ask, why is it that a smeller makes tears come into eyes ?

I would guess nerve endings are situated very close to pores.

I’ve never had an issue with a pimple making me cry. Perhaps it’s relative; I’ve had my pilonidal cyst drained… now that hurts. A pimple, on the other hand, isn’t too bad.
