If you report a post and a moderator doesn’t think that any action needs to be taken, we generally do not reply to the person who reported the post. If you want to know why no action was taken on a particular post report, feel free to contact one of the moderators of that forum.

We don’t mind being bothered. Really. It’s what we’re here for.

If you really feel you’ve been slighted by a mod, post your warning and a question re: the warning* in a new thread*, with a link to the “alleged” insult. Let the court of public opinion rule on it. It’s done all the time.

I’ve actually seen a mod change his mind after such a thread, but it’s far more likely that the members will point out what you missed in the matter.

Also, PM’s aren’t necessarily the best way to get a timely answer from a mod, especially over the weekend. We are, after all, unpaid volunteers who moderate here in our spare time. While we all make an effort to at least check our email for thread reports regularly, we don’t get any sort of a notification of a PM unless we’re logged into the board itself. And even then, it’s easy to overlook, particularly if you’re checking in from a smart phone where that little “Private Messages: Unread 1” in the upper corner is especially easy to overlook.

Not sure what I have set differently but when I visit and I’m logged in I get a notification box spring up that tells me I have a new PM.

Ah, cool. Turns out, there’s a setting in the User CP to turn that on.
