**particlewill** , that cham-peen thread killer, suggested a smiley with Xs instead of eyes for dead threads. Add the pirate smiley to that. So let’s see, we’ve got a smiley with a pirate hat and an eye patch, with a word bubble that says “Arrr, scallions!”, and he’s sodomizing a parrot with his peg-leg. Nice! ---

It really has nothing to do with nice posters. It’s the topic of the thread. After you’ve been around for a while you’ll see that most of the topics have been discussed over and over and over again. Newer posters will post to these threads, but people that have been members for a while just don’t post to topics that have been covered before most of the time. There are several threads going now that have been discussed before, but because new people come in it makes the thread interesting. If you start a thread and it dies fast, don’t be discouraged. It’s just possible that most people have already covered the topic in times past. Then again you do get ‘nice’ posters that people just don’t post to their threads because they can read between the lines. ---

Sometimes as soon as I post to a thread it sinks. Just look at the threads where people respond to you, and cherish those! Controversy is a sure way to attract the responses, but some of the attention can be unfavourable, so I don’t really recommend that route. ---

It’s a big board. It’s hard to stand out in a crowd so full of bright shinning lights. Still I do feel that I seem to have a certain aura of invisibility on this board that from time to time makes me ponder my own existance. I think perhaps I’ll run to a mirror real quick just to make sure I’m still here. ---
