Why don't hotels have central HVAC systems?

No offense taken since I knew none was meant. I hope you took my rant the same way. I’ve certainly done my share of :smack: things in unfamiliar surroundings. Of *course *I have to turn it on. After cursing at it for 15 minutes. :smack:

Let he who’s never pulled a D’oh! cast the first stone. Shan’t be me.

I have to say my rant was more cathartic than I expected it would be. Thank you for that opportunity.

Part of every winter for us is occasional coldsoaked hotel rooms and wimpy heat systems that can maintain the room temp, but don’t have enough oomph to make up for a good cold-soaking. I guess I was venting some anticipation of that.

Overall I have to say to you and all your brethren that after not quite thirty years of sleeping in hotels 10-15 nights a month the actual mechanical problems I’ve had have been very few and far between. And almost always solved promptly with a smile by a guy who works under much worse conditions than I do. My hat’s off to you all.

No offence taken.

I tell the story of my customer from hell. It was not anything that she did. But from the moment that she opened the door to her room everything went wrong. It is a long story so I will skip it. But everything and I mean everything went wrong. It took me over two hours to correct the problem that landed in my lap. In doing my work I passed the hotel assistant manager. I told him he needed to send all the oops we made a mistake things to her room infact I though he himself should deliever some of the gifts. At first he did not take me serious. But after hospitality called him telling him all that went wrong. Then he finally started moving. So I do know that things can go wrong.
