Well, it could be what **DuckDuckGoose** said–that she’s just “coming out of the closet” now, so to speak–but my take is that she’s found an online community that makes her feel more included (we at the SDMB can be a rather contentious bunch), and so has sort of adopted that community mindset without question. I did the same thing myself, once, only it wasn’t about GOD, it was about DOG(s). (Same thing, only backwards.) Eventually the uber-rigid attitudes of that forum about THE ONE SINGLE CORRECT way to acquire/raise/feed/train a dog got to be too much even for me, but for awhile, I was DRIVING the bandwagon, and giving hell to anyone who thought differently. Now, I still have some ideas about dog training–for example, I don’t feel like I’d EVAH use a shock collar (though I do threaten my dogs with the possibility when they piss me off . . . ;))–but I have now relaxed a considerably on, for example, what to feed a dog (a few years ago, I would NEVER have purchased DOG CHOW–heaven forbid!–for my Girls, even if buying the more expensive “message board approved” food would have left me eating Ramen for a week), and am much less judgmental about the way other folks do it, unless they’re downright abusive. The point is that sometimes these things happen–internet communities can so easily go Stepford on you–but eventually you come back to yourself. Hopefully. ---

Whoever asked: abortion is considered a sin, and all sins have been paid for by jesus on the cross, Theres this movie the Passion which explains… If you accept Jesus’ death on your behalf(He took the rap for us) then all is forgiven. I think **calm kiwi** nailed it as I remember either Jersey Diamond or Lynnwhatever chastising **vanilla** for being a hypocrite in another thread. The details are fuzzy but if I recall correctly, part of the problem was her stance on homosexuality. ---

And, incidently…lots and LOTS of christians continue to sin…because they want to. Your statement is proven false by christians every single day. I’m sure you know this. The bible says we are all sinners, right? Everyone commits sins every day. Even you. No one forces you to sin. You do it because you WANT to. ---
