Why is it the General Questions forum that always seems to slow down and crash on a regular basis? I’m pretty sure it’s not because of traffic since MPSIMS and GD get at least as much. I haven’t been able to get into the GQ forum since about 1:05 SDMB time, yet on the Message Board homepage it says the last post was at 1:44! This is really frustrating, because it seems like other people can still access and post to the forum, while I’m still locked outside. What’s the deal? If GQ isn’t up soon I’m going to be forced to visit GD, and, believe me, nobody wants that! ---

The posts you see that register after you are unable to get into the forum are duplicates of posts that were made immediately prior to access being denied. Again? I haven’t been able to get into GQ since at least 9:00 CT. I’m being forced to read threads like “What if they found Noah’s Ark?” and “Why do Black people like Chicken?”!!! Please, please, please fix GQ!!! ---

I can’t seem to get to GQ today either. And the entire MB seems slower than normal. I suspect it’s gonna go down completely later today, much like it did the other day. ---

If I can’t get into GQ soon, I may have to actually do some work today. I’ve been trying to average down my productivity from that week the board was hacked, and now you all are going to go and spike it back up again. ---

GQ is one of our larger forums and we suspect the lockups are due to the system choking on all those posts. A fix is in the works. In the meantime, we’re trying to make do as best we can and we ask for your patience while we figure out what to do and how to do it.
