Usually by this time the IRS has sent me their annual love-letter. I really don’t think they have forgotten me so why haven’t I heard from them? Have other Dopers gotten their packets already? ---

Eeyugh. I saw mine sitting on the counter the other day. I’ll ignore it for at least two more weeks, though. ---

I got mine today. If all goes according to plan, I’ll lose it the day before I get my W2, find it sometime in the middle of February under 16 credit card solicitations and a random magazine, put it “somewhere safe” until I can find my W2 form again, and then spend several hours on April 14th searching for that “somewhere safe” so I can actually do my taxes sometime after 9 pm April 15. ---

I got my IRS “Telefile” thing and stood up, stridently proclaiming “I’m gonna do it right now!” and then remembered I haven’t, of course, gotten my W2 forms - all 3 of them this year. Sat back down and had a cookie. ---

They haven’t sent me one for a couple years. I presumed it was because I had H&R Block do my taxes the past couple years. However, I don’t see why that doesn’t entitle me to get the packet in case I decide to do them on my own which I was planning to do this year. ---
