As a public figure, and particularly as someone who is deliberately thrusting himself into the middle of a discussion that is related to the political process, Mark Cuban would enjoy much less protection against libel than he would if he were just caught giving candid comments at a dinner party or a much lower-profile person minding his own business. Trump could go after Cuban the same way he has gone after Megyn Kelly, Rosie O’Donnell, Hillary Clinton, and even Elizabeth Warren. I guess he just knows that he’s probably not man enough to get it on with Cuban – because everyone who has watched him in the American Airlines arena knows Cuban’s not going to get pushed around. He will most definitely shoved back and it won’t feel good for the Donald. If you’re Donald, it’s best just to let that one go. That’s especially true given that he’s already quietly getting bludgeoned by another billionaire he’s already pissed off: Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post. The one thing Donald Trump has managed to convince his idiot supporters is that he’s a loaded business genius. If he gets into a media slug-fest with Cuban, another billionaire TV showman, then he would get shredded and the mask would get ripped right off. ---

Cuban figured Trump out: Trump has cash, and more importantly, he has access to cash from banks, because the banks have their money tied up in his properties and investments, which he uses as leverage. The banks don’t pull out sinking investments because they want to see at least some of that money again. That is not the same as wealth, though.
