Why have conservatives left this message board?

Since my argument is that you are not doing a serious debate…

You are still in the pit, so no, you fail again. Debate that in other forums then.

What I say comes from past experiences with many right wingers that even claimed exactly what you claim here about not using rotten sources. Post those “good ones” elsewhere then.

You first?

Answering seriously, I don’t have enough information to make accurate and complete evaluations of such, and thus don’t commit my opinions to text. They get to stay safely inside my head

Yup. I’m confident that I’m not alone in regarding it a schtick, tiresome, but calling out every instance not worth the trouble.

No, I’m pretty sure I remember that it was his rhetoric that brought Bricker around on the same-sex marriage issue.

(That was intended as sarcasm, in case I need to point that out.)

Weirdly, it was mine–and it’s the only time that I think I’ve ever persuaded anyone of anything political on this board.

Just want to pop in here and relate that this is mostly my take on our estimable DT. I can’t 100% take him seriously. I read him as, “using hyperbole to make a point.” Over the last 10 years or so every mostly negative assumption that has been made here on the boards regarding the motivations of the right leaning voters in this country has borne out to be true. What would it look like if you always assume the worst of your political opponents and they always fail to disappoint you? (That sentence is unwieldy but I’m keeping it.)

Even if I wouldn’t use his exact language, I understand where he’s coming from.

Given that America has masked secret police snatching people of the street and a concentration camp called Alligator Alcatraz, I think he’s been wildly naive about the motivations and character of conservatives.

I don’t think you’ve earned the right to ask anyone to back shit up. You are so far behind on backing your own claims up after repeated requests that anything you say from this point forward can only be seen as yet another attempt to carve out a new set of rules for conservatives based on nothing but hubris.

No, his literally apocalyptic predictions have gone way past reality.

Reality is awful but it’s not Der Trihs awful.

His predictions are almost always far wrong (thank goodness).

It’s both. They troll all the time, malice is a core part of the conservative worldview and they’ll say whatever they think will cause the most harm. However, so is ignorance and self delusion, so it’s quite possible they believe their own falsehoods.

Agreed, they aren’t mutually exclusive.

No, it’s brilliant. Very succinct way of putting it.

Well, MAGA is officially the fifth level hierarchy in the Church of Satan, so are ‘hellbound’, ‘anti-Christian’, and ‘Satan’s followers’ more ‘friendly’ descriptions, given that they are fact-based and not a pun?

Pro-tip for Der Trihs’s bearded evil twin, if he ever drops by from another dimension: @Der_Trihs carefully obeys mod instructions. When instructions made his participation in GD impossible, he stopped posting in GD. After a while, he came back.

While there have always been a certain number of line-dancers on this board, they are outnumbered by problem posters who refused to obey direct moderator instructions inthread.

I think it’s an aspect of the general unwillingness of right wingers to respect or tolerate others. Other people are supposed to submit to their every whim and act of abuse; not demand that they obey rules. Rules are for the lower orders.

People with the wrong gender, the wrong skin tone, the wrong nationality or religion; those are the people who are supposed to obey rules. The rules laid out by their divinely chosen superiors.
