Why have you chosen to stick with internet forums over modern social media?

I can tolerate FB, mostly due to the FB Purity extension (for the desktop, anyway) that allows me to customize what I see.

I cannot wrap my brain around Reddit (plus I’m a snob and the level of communication in most of my dips in is … disheartening), and Insta etc I just really have no need for. I tried Bluesky too but again it didn’t grab me.

I do watch a ton of YouTube. It’s considered social media, but it’s certainly not the same as a message board or one of the threads-style internet destinations. I’m old and I like message boards >shrug<

Because my other hobby is keeping neighborhood kids off my lawn.
