A few years ago, a Parisian friend suggested the name when I was looking for a good email address. He told me that, while many people clumsily translate the word to _attractive_ or _good looking_, it really has a much deeper meaning of **charismatic** or **attract_ing_**. I think I like the double edged sword there- Alexander the Great was charismatic, but so were Hitler & Jim Jones. So what do y’all think… does this name make my butt look big? * * * The artist formerly known as **opus**. ---

Here I was, looking at the thread name, thinking he-who-shall-not-be-named was back once more. Luckily, it’s only opus under a new name! I like it, pal. Intriguing. Plus, I didn’t know that word yet, so some ignorance was fought as well 😉 ---

You go Girl This is a free country dammit, and you can call yourself whatever makes your little heart happy. I think sticking with a name that makes you UNhappy makes you a weeniehead. I’m with TwistofFate and Persephone. The username is sacred! Is should be set in stone forever to remain through the years. You should be able to wonder, whatever happened to, oh, let’s pick a name at random - - BratMan007, for instance. You should be able to search for BratMan and find if BratMan is still around or not, and not have to wonder if he suddenly changed his name to say, oh, some obscure Monty Python reference or something. It’s just all too confusing. ---

Your new one is pretty! I find myself oddly drawn to it for reasons I can’t explain… I’m contemplating a change of title myself. I love being Medea’s Child. However, its been getting cramped these days with having to find abbreviations that aren’t other people’s names (ex. MC, Medea) and I hate to inconvience people by having to type a long name. Even so, I will probably stick it out as me. (I’m Medea’s Child everywhere else, saves on having to remember my username.) I keep this username everywhere and have for about four years now.
