I’ve been “paying my dues” for 10 years; maybe it’s not just that I’m “not cut out” for this type of work as much as that I’m just _over_ 10 years of what can only be described as abuse by customers. ---

In addition to the caffeine allergies and lactose intolerance already mentioned, I’d like to note that if you were to put high-sugar ingredients into a diabetic’s drink, I wish you a really good time on the bread line when that person sues your coffee shop for medical damages and they fire your ass. I’ve worked retail food service. Yes, it’s a shit job. If you can’t take it, find something else to do, because what you’re claiming to be doing is the worst idea I’ve ever seen. ---

Whoa. Glad I don’t go to coffee shops much. I think the OP maybe should cut back a little on the caffeine himself. Seriously, dude, find something else to do that doesn’t involve dealing with the public. As an aside, due to an injury earlier this year, I’ve lost some of the use of my right hand, which happens to be the side of my change pocket. Often when I’m in a shop, the clerk will throw his or her palm out and adopt an impatient stance long before I’ve managed to reach into my pocket. Then, once I do get the change out, due to a lack of manual dexterity I sometimes need to it set down on the counter to separate out the correct amount. Guess that would earn me a ‘punishment’ from the OP. ---

Dude, wake up. It’s not a perfect world. It has assholes. Find a better one. Out assholing the assholes, though, I don’t see that as a big-picture solution. ---
