I’m sorry to be a curmudgeon, but it does bug me a bit, though I couldn’t really tell you why. It’s like you’re trying too hard to mark your individuality, or something.

No, I think **raisinbread** is a fan of Alice Walker’s novel **The Color Purple**. 🙂

**The Flying Sorcerers** by Niven and Gerrold. An earthman comes to a world where all the gods are named after science-fiction authors…but somehow one SF writer is missing from the pantheon. It’s not until late in the book that it clicks that the earthman, nicknamed “The Purple Magician”, who’s had trouble with his universal translator since day one isn’t actually named “As a color, a shade of purple-grey”. First, it should be punctuated “As. A. Color-a-shade-of-purple-grey” aka “As-a-mauve”. Geddit? 😃
And put me in the “annoying gimmick that screams “NOTICE ME, DAMMIT!”, but I’m not about to have apoplexy” camp

Interesting suppositions, some of these. Funny, as well. I have no idea why you post in purple, I can’t say I’ve thought that much about it, really.
As for me, why I don’t post in purple is for some of the reasons I’ve seen here. I hope that those who read my posts are reading for what I say, and/or because they like me. Notice the purrple in my username. I have liked purple since I was a little girl; long before it was “fashionable” to like purple. Oddly enough, most people think the shades of purple I wear look good on me. Or, at least, they’re too kind to say otherwise…😛
