Why is Bill Clinton so popular with African Americans?

It’s because he eats at Red Lobster.

After we get done with this question, anybody want to answer what I think is a much harder one: How is it that the Republicans have managed to maintain such popularity among working class white Americans when they never do a damn thing for this group economically? [I keep thinking, “This time around, they will really have to focus their tax cuts more on the lower and middle class” but it never happens!]

My guess is that it is basically via appeals to non-economic issues like “family values” and some subtle and not so subtle appeals to race, as well as enough obfuscation on economic issues that these people don’t realize they are being screwed.
