Instead of having these temporary fora disappear after a few weeks, is there any way they could be kept up as locked archives? That way if there’s any remarkable threads, they won’t be lost in the ether once their time is up. ---

Yes, we just lock them, we don’t disappear them. We disappear very little stuff actually, we usually just move things out of view. Man, you should see the attic in the mod wing. ---

You know what’s funny? This means that some people can’t read the threads that they themselves created. Like **MeanOldLady** ’s thread, [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=625560). And **Bosstrain** ’s thread [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=624477). And **purplehorseshoe** ’s thread [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=625860). And **miss elizabeth** ’s thread [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=625719). And **Hello Again** ’s thread [here](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=625473). And some of these threads don’t have anything to do with Halloween, like **Bosstrain** ’s “What have they done with Vampires?!!”, which isn’t about Halloween or costumes or anything. So a guy who created a thread in a non-exclusive forum now finds it in a place he can’t access and he wasn’t even talking about the topic of that exclusive forum to begin with. ---

And it was started before the exclusive forum even existed. I’m sure that that was an oversight. They probably shouldn’t have moved already existing threads. ---
