Why is distilled water suddenly so hard to find?

Probably the same people who pay extra for name-brand undistilled water.

Linky?

Hey, OP Near The UP, make a run down to Madison. I’ve seen it all over the place. Got a few gallons at the local Pick & Save the other day.

Vevor 1.1 gallon water distiller on Amazon for $65.99. I bought it in early January, but it now appears to be unavailable. Maybe a lot of other people need distilled water as well?

Probably.

I’ve only used it two or three times, but this one seems to work as advertised.

High altitude balloon ballast?

It’s been hit or miss at my local grocery store since covid. Ask a store employee what day and time they usually stock it. Like anything else, if it’s out of stock then the normal response from shoppers is to buy more then they need when it is in stock which of course makes it worse.

Minneapolis MN: Walmart is sometimes completely out, other places usually have it but more empty shelf space than before. Price has shot up in the last ~two years from 0.79 or 0.89 to 1.59

Back in St. Louis, the Wal-Mart I said never had it, had a plentiful supply of it today, for $1.16/gal.

A few weeks ago I went shopping at Harris Teeter and wanted to pick up a gallon of distilled water for my CPAP. They were completely out of distilled water, and I had to settle for a gallon of spring water (not as good for a CPAP, but better than tap water). Of course, for some reason spring water is a bit pricier. However, when I went shopping this week there was a full shelf of distilled water.
