# Why is it that my nose gets more clogged the more I blow it?

It seems that when I have a little runny nose (but I can still breath through it) and then I blow it, within 5 minutes my nose will be almost completely clogged. Why does blowing your nose seems to make things worse? Or is that not the case and is it just me? Does blowing your nose make your sinuses swollen or something?

All that mucus that was happily residing in your upper sinus cavities, after blowing, becomes dislodged and gets in the way of breathing.
