# Why is McCain's jaw swollen?

At the debate last night is was quite noticable that John McCain’s jaw was bulbous on one side. Any idea what casued that? Has it always been there and I just noticed?

It’s been that way for a long time, I don’t know what it is, probably a rat bite from Nam or something. [Just kidding](http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_does_John_McCain's_cheek_look_swollen), most like a melanoma removal, and that is an immune response to the cancer.

Surely you saw him singing about “my swollen gland” in the jibjab (sp?) video out on the net!
