It has nothing to do with whether I like it or not. I’m not a huge fan of dancing either way. But MJ doesn’t even begin to reach the levels of theater dancers and that’s simply because that was not his main focus. It would be like comparing Fred Astair’s singing to Michael Jackson. No comparison.
What makes you think singing was Jackson’s only main focus? He always combined dancing and singing in his performances.
“Only main focus” doesn’t make sense in a sentence. Gene Kelly was a dancer by trade yet he sung and acted. His main focus was dancing. Everything he did revolved around that first.
Michael Jackson was a song writer/singer. Everything he did revolved around his songs.
You’re implying a person can only ever be good at one thing, and if Jackson was good at singing, then his dancing wasn’t as good. That’s just as nonsensical.

I didn’t say he was only good at one thing. I said the professional dancers of the dancing movie era were better.
You said they were better because they focused on dancing first and Jackson focused on singing first. Even if that assertion is true, it doesn’t prove that they were better.
Personally, I think there’s a heavy element of subjectivity involved. Astaire was good, Jackson was good, and some current pop-lockers blow both of them out of the freaking water. But that’s because I like pop-locking.
