Why is Murder Illegal in the US?

Sounds reasonable. Murder trials are by far the most expensive for the state to conduct. We’re always in danger of facing a crime wave that could bankrupt us if we attempted to catch and try all the perpetrators of murder.

Why? A murder trial is usually pretty simple and straightforward.

I would think that a trial for some white collar financial crime would be more expensive. The crime is more abstract, the evidence is a lot more complicated, and the defendants are more likely to have a legal team that will drive up the length and cost of the trial.

I would think so also but the conversation had lost any serious tone at that point and that comment wasn’t to be taken seriously.
