I have a reddit account already. That being said about 6 weeks ago I clicked on a link that sent me to reddit. Note I did not know the link would do that. After that I got spammed by Reddit updates to the email linked to my account. It had created a new account for me linked to my account email which seemed to be a server generated name (two words with a number). OK I go through the steps to blow it out. Now today I got an update from my “reddit account”. Reddit created another account and linked it to my email. I blow that out and think, "Hmmmm. Maybe I should make sure my real account and make sure that’s ok. So I pull up Reddit and it says Hey welcome back and it set up another account for me. WTF?!

So what’s going on and how do I fix it?

I use Chrome if that matters.

A quick search turned up this from 6 days ago. I don’t know if it applies to your situation.:

[https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/k5hd1d/automatic\_account\_creation\_via\_google\_should\_be/](https://www.reddit.com/r/help/comments/k5hd1d/automatic_account_creation_via_google_should_be/)

The answer was this:

> [@](#):

> Go to your Google account settings and search for “authorized sites”, then remove reddit from the list.
