# Why isn't Cosmo called "Sluts R Us"?

Maxim and Cosmo are very different. Guys are slobs and we admit it. Cosmo is aspirational, Maxim is affirmational. GQ or Esquire would be more likely counterparts. Maxim is almost like a sarcastic reply to Cosmo, like “if you think this is how we really are, then we’ll play along”

The men’s magazines are doing the same things. They are teaching the guys how to treat women like objects, and we will go out and read Cosmo so that we can try to act and look like objects.

If you can’t tell, I don’t like any of those magazines.
