Can anyone come up with any ideas why manhattan closed that thread in GQ on Lesbians/dildos? I still had things to ask the posters there. And I wanted to contribute my views further. Probably because that would be better dealt with in MPSIMS or IMHO. ---

Because General Questions is a forum for questions with factual answers, such as, “Will I die if I cut off my head?” or “Can I go to prison if I stab someone?” Asking why lesbians don’t have sex with men, even if they enjoy penetration, is a very subjective question… there’s no hard (no pun intended) and fast answer to give. ---

Often General Questions get asked that don’t have a simple factual answer but have a number of factual theories or reasons that may apply. On these threads, frequently the first several posters will present the most likely or best supported answers to the question, and then later post will break down into a debate over which of the different answers will apply. In those cases, when the General Question is asked and answered as well as it can be, the moderators will close the thread, as the debate or discussion is inappropriate in GQ. If the parties think it important enough to continue, they can carry on in a proper forum. I believe that this is what happened in the thread you referenced. The General Question was answered, to the extent it could be answered, and the thread had degenerated into extraneous commentary and debate. In other words, the GQ thread had “run its course.” ---

They mostly start “I’m pitting myself…” 😃 Seriously, what Billdo (what a username :)) said. And topics as inclined to be controversial as this one probably are watched more thougherly for straying out of factual territory. Almost certainly what you want to ask is IMHO (or maybe MPSIMS) (standard disclaimers: search first, your answers may be in the archives; however searching for ‘lesbian dildoes’ may give spurious results) It might be a GQ, but you might want to consider asking a mod to make sure. ---
