# Why no SD chat room?

Someone said they were told that typing :/join #straightdope  
" was seen as an ad for the straightdope chatroom.  
You can be banned for advertising, apparently

Now that I think of it, that makes a lot of sense! That is probably the reason why. I guess just typing that in might have made me look like some kind of pornbot or spambot or something.
