Why not just move halfway across the country?

I would move if I were you. One shouldn’t ever regret a move. Even if it doesn’t work out, you still learned something and got to experience different things. I always secretly disrespect people that live in the same general area their entire lives. If that is what your gut tells you to do, then you should do it. I doubt that you will ever get burned too badly in Austin and it will probably work out quite well.

Oh, go ahead. My ex-wife pulled up stakes, moved halfway across the country, moved back, and then moved across the country again. Then when she was in her mid-30s, she moved cross-country one more time, went back to school for an entirely new field of study, and when she finished that, she moved cross-country again.
