But Panetta’s memo says: “our contemporaneous records from September 2002 indicate that CIA officers briefed truthfully on the interrogation of Abu Zubaydah, describing ‘the enhanced techniques that had been employed.’” I don’t see the ambiguity that that blogger is arguing for.
So we have an example of CIA lying in hand from just the last year. An example that minority leader Boehner acknowledges he is aware of.
This makes Boehner’s stated inability to imagine a CIA officer lying to congress unbelievable. Boehner has an example in hand. He doesn’t need to ‘imagine’ it. The minority leader would have to have a negative imagination in order to find lying CIA officers unimaginable. No one has a negative imagination.
Boehner is lying.
Pelosi might be telling the truth.
Let’s have an investigation, and kick the liar(s) out of congress.
