Why shouldn't I get Kazaa?

There’s another justification I just love.
“I’m stealing this music because the record company gets most of the profit, and the actual creator of the music only gets a buck.”
Y’know, if it’s so darn hard for a poor songwriter or singer to make a buck, don’t you suppose they appreciate each and every buck that makes it to them? They profit just a small bit if you buy the music, but they don’t get jack if you steal it.

Then get WinMX

Well, if clowns like you are just going to steal all the copies of the song, instead of paying for them, I guess the “rights” would be worth absolutely nothing.

So, Sting has to make all his money by selling the original master to one person. Then everyone else in the world gets to copy it for free. Is that how you think it should work?

Actually I use another one, you see I am a big sci-fi reader. Unfortunately it’s virtually impossible to find science fiction books in my country. Surely you can find Clarke, Bradbury and even Asimov but if you go to a bookshop and aks anything written by Heinlen they won’t even know of whom you are speaking.
I know that I live far away from the center of the world but a consequence of globalazation is that you have to make your products available worldwide (Amazon is after our maxidevaluation out of the question).
I am willing to pay reasonable money to buy let’s say David Weber’s latest books, I am willing to wait a little to read them. I am not willing not to read them just because I am geographicaly handicapped (more on this can be found in www.baen.com search in free library).
That is why I use Kazaa, and if I ever found something written by all those authors that I read via piracy, rest assure I will buy them.
If you want another example, the second part of the Lord of the Rings was released all around the world in december 18, all around Argentina in the first of january but not in my state, I am fed up and I will download it at a friend’s house (who has broadband) the day of the premier I will see it.

don’t get kazaa because soon you won’t be able to use it anyway. a judge has given the go-ahead for someone in the record industry to sue kazaa recently (it was an issue because kazaa is based in or near australia)…there’s an article:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030113/ap_on_hi_te/internet_music_trial_4

so kazaa will most likely be going the way of napster anyway.
