More appropos: why are they STILL rich? I mean, anyone can become rich by happenstance (marriage, inheritance, lottery) but lying on your pile of gold in your cave for centuries, when tens of millions suffer in want? That’s on you.

Thanks for the explanation (and to **MrDribble too**!), I can see now how one leads to the other. And reading a post of his from 2015 and another recent one I am left marvelling at the coherence in style and content. He still likes to ask innocent sounding questions in the “why?” style, a phase most of us went though shortly after we mastered simple sentences and during which we tested the patience of our elders. Reminds me of the same experience I recently had on a personal level when I returned to Berlin after living abroad for ten years: it is astonishing how little people’s fundamental character changes. Old acquaintances long time not seen still have the same ticks, views, opinions, habits… I guess the same applies to me. And that educating people or even making them better or wiser over the net is a fool’s errand, particularly if they don’t want to.
I also see a correlation between liking and wanting to believe Trump, Atlantis, von Dänicken, Younger Dryas and the like. It all makes sense. Sad!

There is a thread about earworms in this board, but I am sorry to say from experience that it does not help to get rid of the worst of them. Sorry! Yours is a bad case, I wish I could help. Have you tried substituting it for another earworm? [Whiter Shade of Pale](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mb3iPP-tHdA) often works for me.

Did I miss something? I don’t see how Younger Dryas fits in that list, and googling only revealed that (I guess) there are some obscure conspiracy theories that the onset of the Younger Dryas had extra-terrestrial (as in aliens) origin. Is that what you’re referring to?
ETA: ok, nm, I clicked on the link to that CS thread, and I get it now. Huh.
