I liked him in “That 70’s Show”, but I have never seen any of his movies because the commercials make them look awful in my opinion. But I have no hard feelings towards Ashton himself. Yet in a recent thread many of you were saying how you’d never watch a movie with him in it and made it clear that it was because of a dislike of him. So what is it about him, or what has he done to get such hard feelings? I don’t really know anything about him other than he’s married to Demi Moore, there was a recent rumor of him cheating, and I saw him co-host “Live” with Kelly Ripa. He seemed like a nice guy. 😕 ---

Isn’t it Ashton Kutcher that makes them look awful? He stinks up everything he’s in. He could be in the most well-written, deftly-directed and perfectly polished production and you’d still sit there for 90 minutes, distracted and made miserable by the injustice of a world that not only fails to make Ashton Kutcher homeless and shunned, but actually rewards him beyond all proportion for bringing such an incomprehensible level of banality with such relentless consistency. Hell, I watched _What Happens In Vegas_ (wife’s choice) with _every intent_ of extracting as much entertainment out of it as possible, but Ashton Kutcher sucked so hard that my ears popped and it began to rain indoors. ---

I think he’s okay in the right role (lThe Butterfly Effect; A Lot Like Love) but I know people who: a. don’t like him b. think he’s really as stupid as his That 70’s Show character. ---

Ouch. No, for me it’s not him that makes me not want to see the movie, it’s everything. It’s the types of movies he’s in. It’s the plots and the lame attempts at humor. If anybody else had been in “Dude, Where’s my Car?” or “No Strings Attached” I still wouldn’t watch them. ---

Punk’d is reason enough. OK, although I do detest \*that \*show, I don’t have any particular hate for him. I even kinda enjoyed that spy one with him and Katherine Heigl - even if it wasn’t memorable enough for me to remember the name. ---

He has a dumb hairstyle and an insipid personality. To make things worse, his name sounds like a stripper’s _nom du pole_. Ashton is a girls name, and the last name sounds like “coochie”. ---

1. Punk’d. 2. As already made evident by 1), incompatible senses of humor. 3. Please don’t show him laughing. I realize it’s not his fault, but his laughter sounds like a donkey’s bray - a noise which I’m ok with so long as it comes from an actualy donkey. Dude’s pretty in the right angle, but same as there are other actors that I can use as indicators that I’ll probably like the movie, Kutcher is one that I will probably not. On the other hand, if I happen to know one of my coworkers like punk’d-style humor and I hear a new AK movie is coming out, I’ll point it out to that coworker. I’ve got nothing against him as a human being, I just know I don’t like his work like I know I don’t like cauliflower. ---

I liked him a lot in The Butterfly Effect, and he was **perfect** in Spread, but the latter is a backhanded compliment at best. ---

I think he sees himself as being on the level of a Justin Timberlake who is both talented and funny (sings, produces, dances, plays instruments, acts(Social Network) and is pretty funny (SNL)). But Ashton is not talented or funny… he just thinks he is. ---

He has a very specific acting style. So if he’s in the wrong movie, it clashes horribly. Things like Butterfly Effect work for him. basically, he’s a good actor, but not a great one - cannot change too much to accomodate the role. ---
