Banana fana bo Libi …
Indeed, the conventional wisdom. But perhaps not…
For instance, that Iraq war vet who ran recently in a "safe"district and damn near won. And that was before the situation worsened for Pubbies. IIRC, his campaign was based largely on dissing The Leader.
The concept of the “safe district” is based largely on demographics and voting history. A district that is largely Republican is considered safe for the Republicans. But there are two factors that can easily upset this apple cart.
First and foremost, the honest Republican. They exist, I’ve met them, they are here amongst us. They are those R’s who place their country above their party and wish to be cleansed of these scoundrels. They may not vote Dem, but they may stay home. On the other side, the comparatively apathetic voter of no particular political persuasion. The more the stench rises from this, the more motivation. Remember, the Apathy Party holds majorities in most, if not all, of our electoral districts.
Now, this qualifies as conjecture here, I am by no stretch an expert on statistics and demographics. I only mean to suggest, given the situation, that the concept of a “safe district” may no longer apply. Further than this, despondent sayeth not.
Never underestimate the inspirational power of malice.
Don’t be despondent, bro, things are finally looking up for a change!
try “deponent”
Uh. Hmmm. How to phrase with the absolute minimum of snark.
Yes. I know. Joke.

There is no historical evidence to indicate that GeeDubya is or was paricularly enamored of Custer, save for his well known admiration for bold, decisive leadership.
