richardb, your story sounds very much like mine! I suspect we were kindred spirits in a way. I also, went to see RHPS about 5 years ago for old times sake. I felt so ooooold. It’s just not the same.
The cast was not interested in re-creating the movie or costumes at all. I suppose doing that for us was new and exciting but since they grew up watching us doing that (which is weird, growing up watching RHPS), to them it was old and they wanted do do something new. They weren’t copying the movie so much as doing their own revue and comedy show with the movie as backdrop. Mostly S&M jokes with over-the-top filthy language. Boring.
