Why was **fatgail** banned? I don’t remember seeing her do anything banworthy in any thread. If this belongs in ATMB, feel free to move it. I couldn’t remember if questions about bannings belong here or there… ---

I think the mods usually prefer you email them rather than post a thread. ---

She was a sock puppet for former poster **jarbabyj** / **tinyham**. Who, ironically, was never banned (although now is, of course). Pretty stupid. ---

Crap. Well, I can’t argue with that. And I will, if I have these questions in the future, email. I know I’ve seen a lot of “Why was X banned?” threads before and didn’t remember seeing a mod/admin ask that we email instead. ---

Damn. I remember **jarbabyj** from a ChiDope she helped organize about five or six years ago, which was close enough to my house that I was able to get my wife there in her wheelchair. I wondered what had happened to her; I’d missed the name change, too. ---

But can’t we ever move on to the stage where we forgive and forget for past failings? I’m serious, you guys seem all wrapped up in strictly upholding all these rules so strictly, doesn’t it get to a point where new and interesting members are more important to keeping this place interesting and fun? I would prefer to see someone like **jarbabyj/tinyham/fatgail** receive a month’s suspension as opposed to a banning. I understand that it is a betrayal of trust to create a sock and that the administration tries to foster a real community here which is undermined by deception, but a lifetime ban is kind of extreme to my mind. ---
