I did this stuff as a joke, without realizing how seriously it could be (and was) taken. I will make no excuses for myself. Yeah, I screwed up. Big time. I realized this after I woke up the next morning. Think Macuauly Culkin in Home Alone. ::slaps cheeks and screams:: I tried to log on and post an apology to Manny, when the board informed me my posting privelages were revoked. I hopped over to GQ to check out the first thread, and found it locked. Then I came over here to the pit, to find my second post already bubbling over. I wish to apologize to Manhattan, TubaDiva, all the other mods, and anyone else who was taken in by my stunt. I’m sorry I did this. Oh come on, it was just a joke, and this is just the internet. lighten up. Said joke was kind of unfair to mannhatten, but really. banning and public floggings are ridiculous. manhatten should have just laughed it off. God, the drama around here is ridiculous sometimes. ---

If you haven’t already noticed, this is a group of **people** that care about each other, except for the occasional dickhead. The posters that end up sticking around for awhile treat each other as they would IRL. So when someone’s an asshole, they’re called on it. Besides, everyone’s nerves are raw after losing a treasured friend and it doesn’t help to say “the drama around here is ridiculous”. ---

As Manny said: “The only thing I have as a tool to moderate General Questions is my credibility. If people believe that I am behaving arbitrarily or capriciously, I cannot keep GQ to the high standards I believe it currently has. Everyone has to understand that.” Given the shit-storms that have broken out before because someone accused a moderator or Ed Zotti of being arbitrary, I think it behooved Manny to nip this in the bud before people took it seriously. So, good job Manny. zuma, I’d insult you here, but given that your name is just one letter away from the crappiest pseudo-beerish-swill ever to be purveyed as some sort of alcoholic ‘refreshement’, I can’t really think of any insult worse than the one you’ve already given yourself. ---
