He’s been suspended for 48 hours so the staff can discuss what, if anything, we want to do. (If the rest of the staff tells me I’m being an idiot I’ll reverse the suspension, but I don’t expect that.) I advised him over and over to try to get used to the board instead of just whining about everything, but I guess that is not his style. We take lots of comments and sometimes heated complaints from users, but we’re not here to provide a forum for people who show up just to complain about the board. If it’s that terrible, there’s a whole internet out there. ---

Ahh, but has he actually violated rules, or is it just because he’s kind of retarded (or at least the wrong kind of retarded)? I’m not a big fan of his or anything, but on the other hand I am even less of a fan of fuzzy “rules” that equate to “We don’t like you”. This isn’t criticism, by the way (unless of course he’s being on the road to being banned because “you don’t like him”). It’s a request for clarification and predictability. ---

I think posting on the SDMB just to complain is being a jerk. Add some value and then complain? In my experience the staff will cheerfully listen as you have your say…over and over and over. But just hang around to get your bitch on? Whatever, you should go play someplace else. ---

He’d been advised by me and by others (posters and mods) to try to acclimate to the SDMB and get a feel for things instead of assuming he knew what was going on. That hasn’t happened. If you think this place is like a repressive Puritan witch hunt, why would you want to post here? ---
