# Why was this guard unarmed?

In the abstract, no.  
My point is, there are alot of politikooks out there who could come into a Capitol building to kill a law maker and perhaps anyone else there.  
Oh, wait a minute, this has already happened, hasn’t it?

As for your other comments, last year when our Governor Doyle stated that people don’t need to carry guns to protect themselves, I would have loved for his protection unit to show up for work with empty holsters.  
“But your honor. We don’t need guns to protect you. Remember?”😃

You mean his guards carry guns? That doesnt make any sense.
