# Why was this thread closed instead of moved?

Just wonderin’. Usually if something’s in the wrong forum, a mod will move it. What made this one different?

Not to mention, **Dr. Matrix** closed [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=289744) thread, adivising the OP to start a GD thread. Except, the thread _was_ in GD, not GQ, as apparently **Dr. Matrix** thought.

Just depends on how generous they’re feeling at the moment, and how much time they have. Closing is faster and easier than moving.

Puzzled me, too. There’s now two closed threads in GD beacuse people were debating debateable stuff in Great debates. I think **DrMatrix** has the mod underoos on backwards today. 😉
Anyhoo, I’ve just used the “Report Bad Post” thingy to let him know. You could also do the same.

Sorry to post again so quickly (well we got to get to 33 and all).
I wonder if **DrMatrix** actually tried to move the two threads, but when GD
didn’t appear in the drop down move two box, deleted them instead :smack: 🙂
