# Why was this thread closed?

There’s a thread about [failed bribery attempts](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=510509) in IMHO which was immediately locked. There’s another thread about [_successful_ bribery attempts](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=510323) which has been going on for days. The failed thread even says it was inspired by the successful one.

So why the difference?
