# Why Won't Lemmy Get Rid of Those Growths?

Classic Albums was on tv last night featuring Motorhead’s kickass **Ace of Spades**. Lemmy always had those [warts](http://media.fi.jippii.com/mesta/musakuvat/lemmy%20kilimister%20ruisrock.jpg) on his cheek but Christ he’s starting to look like Zaphod Beeblebrox. How big does something growing out of your head have to get before you do something about it? Granted it’s not going to make him any better looking but at least he wouldn’t have to shave around it. What’s the deal" Any ideas?

My guess is that he keeps them as a sort of symbolic expression of authenticity. In his career, he’s never once made the slightest attempt to “sell out,” sweeten or commercialize himself in any way. He’s presenting himself “warts and all,” both literally and figuratively. He jokes about them sometimes in interviews and I think he takes a bit of perverse pride in them.

I used to work with a guy who interviewed Lemmy for his crappy local cable access show. The one thing you don’t ask Lemmy is the very question you pose.

Unless you want a Rickenbacker bass jammed up your ass, that is.
