Thanks, you guys. You are great. And, you’re right. There are a lot of lessons to be learned about letting a stranger into your home. As it is, I’m still checking to make sure nothing is missing. She just never proved to me that she is reliable. This really messed up my faith in people. But, not all people. And the advise that I got here has been helpful. Hopefully, I’ll never have to use it, but… 🙂 It’s funny to see that there is so much protection for the renter, but not so much for the rentee. I know that renters have been/can be really screwed over, but the law now is just not fair if you’re on the other side. ---

Just an update, nothing to start a new thread about. I started cooking and noticed that I couldn’t find a particular lid to one of the pots. Then noticed that I couldn’t find any of the lids to the particular style I was using. Then noticed that a couple of the pots were missing. And a few other utensils as well. It took so long to notice, because I’m used to using one particular kind for cooking. The ones the evil RFH took were my Mom’s. She had left them in my care. Strangely enough, it was Mom who kept encouraging me to give RFH a break. Sigh. And, isn’t it interesting, the number RFH gave me in case I needed to contact her, her cell number, has been disconnected. At least she’s gone. ---

I feel for you, Heloise. When I first moved out of my parent’s house and into group homes (all I could afford), I experienced “roommate hell” as well. I bought a one bedroom condo so that I couldn’t succumb and get a roommate. I could use the extra space, but it’s so nice not to have to worry about psychos. Anyway, congrats and make sure you remember this lesson in the future. ---

**Opalcat** , I would call the police, but at this point, the stuff is in her new place, and it’s pretty much her word against mine, isn’t it? Plus, I have no idea where she’s living. I could probably go to the school and try to harass her there, but I really would rather never deal with her again, unless I found out she took something of true value. I think the police would probably blow it off, anyway. ☹ I would love to throw the police on her, but I don’t think it would do any good. ---

Yeah, I’d say the LAPD is not going to send out 4 squad cars if all you have is “someone stole a bunch of my pot lids”. It sucks, but it’s true in all bigger cities in the world. Over here, the cops don’t do anything about bicycle theft anymore, other than draft a report that you might need for your insurance. Then again, if your bike is so special that it needs insurance, it’s gonna cost you so much in premium that you’d rather drag it up 4 flights of stairs to put it on your balcony. 🙂 Anyways. Let’s just be glad the little bitch is gone, and let’s hope a few pot lids is all she took. **Exgineer** , you’re a wise man. 🙂 ---

The LAPD would either laugh at you are chastise you for wasting their time. Nobody is going to try to obtain a search warrant for a petty theft. You have learned a valuable lesson: Never be a roommate to someone you do you not know well. ---

Argh. Well, I thought that was about it, but now it looks like I’ll need a plumber, too. She dropped an earring down the sink in her bathroom a few months ago. She opened the pipes underneath to find them and never put them back on properly, so I can’t use that sink. It leaks horribly, and I know nothing about plumbing. And I don’t want to take one more problem on my landlady, she’s already had to deal with this enough. I really despise this creature. ---

I just caught this thread today. Although you’re still getting lingering little surprises, I’m glad that you got rid of the biggest one! Hopefully in the end all that’s left are the little minor things. They’re annoying, but hey, it’s better than continuing to deal with her. ---
