# Why would someone choose gun ownership over their own well-being?

Mildly related: Our police force has been asking citizens with guns not to keep them in their car. Last year there were one thousand guns reported stolen, 800 from cars and 200 from residences. Legally owing a gun helps to arm criminals.

About 750,000 cars are stolen each year. Legally owning a car helps to mobilize criminals.
However, it was asked not to turn this thread into yet another gun debate by hijacks.

I agree with you, but (as many other posters have demonstrated) rationality plays only a small role in this kind of decision.

No. it’s the compounds within marijuana related to pain relief. Which the person in question can take and still retain gun ownership. Which is what is relevant to the discussion unless you are of the opinion that only non-gmo plants can be used for medical relief.

No. Carelessly storing a gun _may_ help to arm a criminal. But you knew that.
