# "Wierd Al" family tree

I was mentioning to a co-worker that I had heard that Wierd Al Yancovic’s father was a famous polka player. He said he had heard that Frank Yancovic was not related to Al. Anyone out there know?

Absolutely no relation whatsoever. According to the FAQ at [http://www.weirdal.com/faq.htm:](http://www.weirdal.com/faq.htm:)

"Is Al related to the famous accordion-playing Polka King, Frankie Yankovic?

“No, although they were friends for many years. (In October, 1998, Frankie passed away at his home in Florida at the age of 83.)”

Al’s parents names are Nick and Mary. He’s an only child.
