# Wierd Mouse behavor in WinXP

I recently installed Windows XP home on my computer, and whenever the hard drive is accessing stuff, the mouse pointer becomes jerky. This never happened in windows 2k. What could be the cause of this?

My config is Via Cyrix 900, 256 megs ram, 8 gig hd, 32 meg SIS 305 graphics card, 16x12x40X CD-RW (HD and CD-RW are on seperate IDE channels, both on master) Also its a Microsoft optical mouse. (I tried it on another computer, and the mouse is fine.

I don’t know if this will help or not, but I just bought an optical mouse (Logitech wheel mouse) under Win98, and I had trouble with MouseWare (the software they provide, which has all kinds of fancy stuff when all I really need is the mouse). It seemed to be interfering with other stuff on my PC. So I uninstalled MouseWare and then installed ONLY the driver, and it seems OK thus far.
Look in your readme file, it might have some suggestions.
