I don’t mind if people want to buy a few. But clearing the shelves and trying to make a huge profit on ebay? That’s really inconsiderate. I sent my husband to the supermarket yesterday for a few things and added, “Why don’t you pick up a couple of Hostess items for dessert since the kids have never had any?” When he came home he reported that the Hostess shelves were completely bare. Not a huge deal, but it would have been a nice treat. I hope someone else will buy the Hostess rights - I would love to see those ebay sellers stuck with tons of boxes of snack cakes that they can’t sell. My Canadian brother-in-law is visiting for Thanksgiving. Perhaps I should ask him to bring some Twinkies! ---

At the store getting stocked for Thanksgiving – saw a cart with 12 boxes of twinkies - don’t know if that is normal for them for Thanksgiving or if they were hording. ---

I always laughed at the name, and assumed it was because I live right at the Mexican border. I had no idea they owned so much else, though. ---

I was getting my daughter the cereal off the top self of the pantry this weekend and found a box of twinkies behind it that we’ve probably had in there for two months. Obviously we aren’t twinkie lovers. Maybe I’ll auction them off one at a time on ebay. 🙂 So what if they are a little hard. ---

The lack of Twinkies would make several fictional apocalypses apocryphal. Maybe if Twilight fans started calling themselves “Twinkies” they would sell enough to stay in business. ---

Hostess cupcakes–chocolate cake with the cream filling and the squiggle on top–were my favs. But I seriously can’t remember the last time I had one. It’s GOT to be at least 50 years. I’d like to have one more 2-pack for old time’s sake but I wouldn’t be hoarding them. And if they have High Fructose Corn Syrup I wouldn’t even get the one pack. ---

Twinkies and the other “confections” will still be made. Bankrupcy is a way for the parent company to reorganize legally and oust the unions. In a month or two the same exact equipment using the same exact recipe will be operating. There will be plenty of people who will claim to be able to tell the difference in the exact same product. ---
