Now there’s something in one of the cables about the possibility of, in exchange for Thailand having extradited Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout to the US, the US extraditing that rat bastard Thaksin, the deposed prime minister, to Thailand. And the US just invited Thaksin to speak at some function. Hmmm. Could be interesting, if he actualy shows up.

Some interesting Thailand-related Wikileaks posted here. They’ve not been blocked in Thailand … yet. Can’t comment on some of them without risking a 15-year prison sentence, but it’s good to know the US keeps good intelligence on what’s going on. I can say that the military coup referred to in the first two is after the September 2006 coup that ousted that rat bastard Thaksin. Now ex-prime minister Somchai is part of the pro-Thaksin red shirts that went on to burn much of Bangkok this year, and the reference must be to a coup that had been planned against him. He’s Thaksin’s brother-in-law and was indeed forced from office inside of a year.
Still wish Wikileaks wouldn’t keep publishing private documents unless it’s exposing genuine malfeasance, but the cat’s out of the bag now.
