I thought it would be easy to find the definitive answer to whether the phrase is “Wild Hare” or “Wild Hair.” It isn’t! Opinions are valuable and welcome, but can anyone find an “official” answer?

Joe

If it is in relation to the nether regions it is probably “hair” and refers to the chance of getting a [Pilonidal Sinus](http://home.earthlink.net/~tsc/refs.html). Well that’s my theory.

From my brief research, it seems to be “Hair”… but that’s not official at all.😉

[Here](http://www.wordwizard.com/clubhouse/founddiscuss.asp?Num=4128) is an example of what I found, but it’s not particularly helpful as to possible origins… but it does use the word “hair” as opposed to “hare”.

If I find anything more, I’ll let you know…
