Will a hard partying drugs & alcohol lifestyle when young impact health in later years?

Oops. Since I was last in that thread it did come up.

Believe me, I’m not condemning anyone and did not mean to make it sound that way. I had my own wasted youth and know how it is. But 69 is not that old really, and you have to wonder how much the “rock-star lifestyle” contributed.

I don’t know. Jerry Garcia died at age 53. If you partied hard and then died at 69, maybe you did it right. The standard life expectancy isn’t much more than that… ok, 77 years in the US. How many standard deviations is Bowie off? How many is Garcia?

ETA: And he has a brand new album out. He kept doing it for all his years.
